I have been on the healing path for many years now, and I am constantly amazed at how much my life has shifted in just five years. I moved to San Francisco in 2000, and like so many people I have experienced great transformation, self-discovery, and connection in this beautiful city. My life was very different not so long ago. After completing my MBA at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, I was a management consultant for five years. I met some amazing people who are close friends to this day, and took on some challenging projects at top university hospitals throughout the country. However, something was missing... I was stressed, uprooted by the constant travel, and sometimes felt like I only existed from the neck up. It was time for a change! I realized that despite the success, challenge, and hefty paycheck, I simply was not happy. My path took me to Isa Gucciardi, a therapist who has pioneered her own approach to counseling called Depth Hypnosis (Anam Cara Foundation). I became her client and later completed her Depth Hypnosis certification course. Buoyed by the work I did with Isa, I found the courage to leave the corporate world about three years ago and decided to go to massage school. I studied at the Acupressure Institute in Berkeley, and I quickly became fascinated by the complex art and science of bodywork and Chinese Medicine. I learned and personally experienced how physical touch can unlock the emotions which we have stored in the body. I have been a massage therapist and certified hypnotherapist for three years, and I recently formalized my body-centered approach to emotional, mental and spiritual healing as "Embodimental Therapy." I am excited to continue to explore and expand upon this approach which weaves together the best of what I have learned from so many great teachers (especially my clients!). Within the past year I have also become involved with work through the Prosperity Institute. I completed and am now co-leading a ten-month Course in Prosperity. The course offers an opportunity to explore, understand and shift deeply held, self-limiting beliefs about prosperity, money, and abundance. |

I love to play, both at work and outside of it... and in keeping with the theme of Embodimental Therapy I tend to gravitate to play that involves my whole body! I recently began taking classes at Fat Chance Bellydance - so much fun, I highly recommend their classes. Last February I took a great fire-spinning class (and have been playing & practicing ever since!) from the fabulous Robin at SF Fire Arts Collective. Yep, that's me at my first light-up! I had a chance to perform with the group at Burningman this year, which was an amazing experience. Looking forward to more fiery fun in the future. I am newly addicted to classes / workshops at Body Electric School in Oakland. What a life changing and expansive experience they offer. |
